Seavilla announced for Dilmunia at Bahrain

Ithmaar Development Company (IDC) announced today, the launch of reservations for Seavilla, the first residential offering at “Dilmunia at Bahrain”, a mixed-use project built on a man-made island off the coast of Muharraq.

Located on the north-eastern waterfront of “Dilmunia at Bahrain” and overlooking the Muharraq coastline, the Seavilla project consists of 32 villas, each with its own sea frontage. The project, which is being built on a total area of approximately 20,000 square meters with 500 square meters of shoreline, will take 18 months to construct.

The announcement, by IDC Chief Executive and Member of the Board, Mohammed Khalil Alsayed, follows a ground breaking ceremony that was held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, last month to mark the start of the first phase of infrastructure works on “Dilmunia at Bahrain”.

“Set in spectacular surroundings, Seavilla delivers a choice of three captivating properties that preserve and enhance the surrounding landscape,” said Alsayed. “With a distinctively low building density – one of the lowest for any development project in the Kingdom – Seavilla offers an alluring seafront retreat in the heart of the new Muharraq,” he said.
Dilmunia at Bahrain, with its unique focus on Health and Wellness, will include residences, hotels, leisure and shopping districts, and provide residents and visitors with wellness facilities and spas in a state-of-the-art resort-type environment.

“Embodying the spirit of Dilmunia at Bahrain, the 32 villas are organized in clusters of four providing carefully landscaped links to the sea through three proposed piers where private boats can be moored to help encourage waterfront living and create a unique residential address,” said Alsayed. “Designed by renowned Argentinian architect Filipe Yofre, CEO & Principal Architect at Intec Bahrain, the low-rise Seavilla project offers a welcoming haven and provides state of the art amenities throughout with architecture that blends in naturally with the area and environment,” he said.

“A truly unique experience, Seavilla is a residential development that ensures the close proximity of all necessary amenities and the best services infrastructure, all perfectly integrated in a private area complete with half a kilometre of shore line,” said Alsayed. “Embracing Dilmunia at Bahrain’s core of comprehensive healthcare and wellness facilities, Seavilla is an environment that strives to prevent illness and promote healthy and active living – a gateway to nature and a sanctuary of relaxation,” he said.

Earlier this year (ed note: April 2013), IDC announced it had awarded the infrastructure package, valued at USD 22.5 million, to Cebarco Bahrain after completing a comprehensive tendering process. The package, relating to the ambitious 125 hectare island’s highways and roads, a distributor bridge crossing on top of Dilmunia’s Grand Canal, landscaping, its power, water, sewerage, drainage, and telecommunications networks, will take 24 months to be completed enabling the completion of various sub-developments within a similar timeframe. As a result, end-users can be handed the keys to their units by mid-2015.

Dilmunia at Bahrain aims to tap into the fast-growing health and wellness industry, which, as reported by Deloitte Centre for Health Solutions, is estimated to have exceeded US$100 billion globally by the end of 2012. In addition to this, Dilmunia’s location in close proximity to the Bahrain International Airport, and its easy access to Saudi Arabia via the King Fahad Causeway, gives it further appeal to international investors.
